Objectives

branded product

Create, fund and manage a proprietary regional product marketing certification and product name for land conservation, and publish a minimally standardized but optimally effective working landscape conservation easement based on the Six Rivers to the Sea prioritization standards of family demographics, richness of and diversity of resources, and productive agriculture.

balance

As approximately 50% of the Initiative's geography at the time of incorporation is designated non-agricultural public land preservation, further preservation for the purposes of providing unmanaged areas for the natural occurrence of  biological diversity and property tract habitat connectivity, and habitat edge shall be promoted at a level of 10%.

Inversely corollary to the preservation balance is hi-input agriculture on uplands, that may for example include farmstead, commercial facility, vegetable crops, viticulture and cannabis. These agricultural land uses that are a conversion of the native vegetation shall be promoted at a level of 0.5%.

Bottoms hold the only solution for efficient vegetable crop agriculture. Consequently bottom vegetable cropping is encouraged in balance with the 0.5% farmstead metric, and a separate conservation metric of 10% area set aside for habitat added to stream and water body areas shall be encouraged.

priority selection

Produce, publish an manage/lead a comprehensive standardized CE public funding prioritization procedure that eliminates political and optimizes visionary but simple metric precedents for choosing which project gets funded first, second, etc. Garner diverse public support for the prioritization procedure and create an arena of cooperation within the Initiative region.

certify

Create, fund and manage certifications:

a. multi-layered regional professional certifications for service based on specific professional quantifiable experience eligibility qualified by recommendations (professional in this sense means competitive business, where the singularly clear metric is quality of service from a customer's perspective, which is the only possible measure of competence). This exclusive layered metric-specific credential celebrates competence; to the exclusion of bureaucracy, pretense and entitlement.

b. multi-layered professional working agriculture land stewardship certifications that include simple and clear metrics for competence in planning and implementation of improvements in-to pasture and range, forests, streams and riparian areas, roads, and terrestrial wildlife habitat.

c. professional land business manager certification based on the planning and succession metrics associated with multigenerational family owner operator or long term and secessional manager experience.

d. a regional product marketing certification with that includes multiple components of professionally managed land, agriculture land stewardship and utilization of regional certified professionals.

lead policy

In addition to cooperation, CE standardization along with certifications will also be for the benefit of developing and participating in exclusive public policy that will benefit the communities in the Initiative, the State of CA and the nation. These policies may include funding for conservation and restoration, and safe harbor from both State and National regulatory paper.

invest

Create and manage a 'Strategic Opportunities Fund', to acquire-bridge natural resource properties at risk of conversion within the region, place conservation easements, manage in the interim, and re-market to private agriculture.

endow

Partner with other foundations to build a self-perpetuating endowment to be used for purchasing conservation easements for working lands, and for establishing public access to public resource lands where appropriate.
